Internet Explorer has been using temporary internet files folder since the www started, probably. It has been a tool to speed up internet surfing. To go online people used slow modems to get connected, people still do in some places.
But today, if you have a faster internet connection, there is practically no advantage to be using temporary internet folders. So if you want the latest version of a webpage every time you surf that page, this is what you do:
- Start Internet Explorer
- Go to "Tools" in the menu.
- Select "Internet Options..."
- Press "Settings" in the "temporary internet files" window.
See picture below.
- Select "Every visit to the page".
- Minimze the slider in the "Amount of disk space to use:" window to free upp harddrive space.
- Press OK!
