Internet Explorer has been using temporary internet files folder since the www started, probably. It has been a tool to speed up internet surfing. To go online people used slow modems to get connected, people still do in some places.

But today, if you have a faster internet connection, there is practically no advantage to be using temporary internet folders. So if you want the latest version of a webpage every time you surf that page, this is what you do:

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. Go to "Tools" in the menu.
3. Select "Internet Options..."
4. Press "Settings" in the "temporary internet files" window.
   See picture below.
5. Select "Every visit to the page".
6. Minimze the slider in the "Amount of disk space to use:" window to free upp harddrive space.
7. Press OK!
