Instructions:

Click "Start" button
Click "Run..."
Type "regedit" + Enter
Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer"
Double click on Norecentdocshistory
(If it is missing, create a new binary value. Right click in right pane and click New | Binary Value)
Change the value to 01,00,00,00
Double click Norecentdocsmenu
Change the value to 01,00,00,00
