A wireless router expands your home network to practically every room. No more cables!

Let say that you already have an existing home network connected to a modem and a router. (See picture below)
So how do you connect a new wireless router to an existing router?

  1. Log in to wireless router. (Read wireless router manual)
  2. Turn off dhcp (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).
  3. Connect a network cable between existing router (lan port) and wireless router. (lan port) See picture.
  4. Configure your wireless computer the same way as the other (not wireless) computers. Same default gateway, subnet mask and prefered/alternative DNS, only different is the ipaddress.
