The ENCODEURL function returns a URL-encoded string.

Formula in cell C3:

=ENCODEURL(B3)

Arguments

text Required. The string to be URL encoded.

Comments

URLs sent over the internet use the ASCII character set. Characters outside the ASCII set must be converted into a valid format.

Space characters are translated into %20 and unsafe ASCII characters with a "%" followed by two hexadecimal digits.
