The FORMULATEXT function returns a formula as a text string.

Formula in cell C3:

=FORMULATEXT(B3)

FORMULATEXT(reference)

Arguments

reference Required. The cell you want to display the formula.

Comments

The FORMULATEXT function was introduced in Excel 2013.

Keep in mind, the FORMULATEXT function returns an #N/A error if cell is empty or contains a number, text or boolean value.

It also displays the formula even if the returning value is an error value.
